So-called “Proprietory” lift controllers mean only the supplier can access the settings in the lift, meaning only they can work on your lift at their prices. They do this to ensure only qualified and trained engineers (in the specific product) can work on the lift.
If the quote you receive seems much lower than others, it is likely the “lost profit” of the sale will be recovered later on with callout charges and repair costs being “x” times the cost of say a local independent service contractor. £600 + for a callout is not unheard of.
