The PVE 37

The PVE 37 is the mid-sized PVE, the smallest being a PVE 30 and the largest being a PVE 52. In this case, The PVE 37 was the perfect size for this client and slotted neatly in their stairwell allowing them to get plenty of room inside of their lift by maximising the available space.

All PVE installs are different, some will need an aperture to allow it to pass through floors. This one however, is an example of a PVE install that didn’t need an aperture as we were installing the lift in a stairwell. The lift only needed a small bridge built to connect it to the upstairs landing allowing our client to freely and safely enter and exit the lift on the top floor, this was made from a matching hardwood so it would blend in with the existing materials.

This PVE 37 was installed with a split turbine unit which allows the turbines that power the lift to be remotely located. This means that the noise of the lift is greatly reduced as the turbines were stored in a cupboard.

The timeframe for installing a home lift largely depends on the type of lift you want. Installing a traditional hydraulic home lift, for example, can take as long as five weeks due to the machinery required to power the lift. On the other hand, a Stiltz home lift takes only a day to install because of its minimal installation requirements. The noise level of Home Lifts depends on the drive system you choose and where the drive mechanism is located. Some designs are quieter without any ‘extra effort’ however, even those with a slightly louder drive mechanism can be quietened to the same level using our clever design techniques and the use of acoustic jackets and sound-dampening technology. Overall our home lifts are much quieter than many other domestic machines such as dishwashers, washing machines etc. Also, bear in mind they only run for a few seconds during use.

Yes, modern home lifts are very safe. When properly installed to code — and with the required safety measures in place — home lifts provide a high level of safety. While it’s possible to be stuck in the cabin, there are safety measures — such as backup power and manual control — that ensure this only lasts for a few seconds.
